Quick, effective and painless, cold laser therapy is a wonderful option for many pets needing help in healing wounds, arthritis, and any other condition where pain, infection, or inflammation is present.

How Laser Therapy Works

The cold laser produces an impulse of light at a specific wavelength, 980nm. The goal of laser therapy is to deliver light energy units from red and infrared laser radiation, called photons, to damaged cells. Those photons are absorbed by the cells stimulate the mitochondria to accelerate production of ATP. This biochemical increase in cell energy is used to transform live cells from a state of illness to a stable, healthy state.

The energy from the laser light allows the body to repair cells and speeds up healing. It also increases blood flow, which relaxes muscles and eases pain.

An easier way of understanding how laser therapy works is to think of it like photosynthesis. A plant takes energy from the sun’s rays and uses it to produce energy. Laser therapy functions in a similar way, allowing the body to use energy from the laser’s light rays to repair cells and speed up healing. This increases the blood flow to the treated area which relaxes the muscles and eases pain.
