PREVENTION
Heartworm disease is a potentially fatal disease that is transmitted by mosquitoes. Fleas are not only a nuisance to dogs and cats but their human counterparts as well. In addition to transmitting various bacteria, fleas also transmit tapeworms. Ticks transmit numerous diseases including Lyme disease. Recent warming weather patterns have increased this parasite population. Heartworm, flea and tick prevention should be administered once a month year-round.
